Nathalie & Kimberley 015

These glasses were a big seller for Viennaline during the mid 1970's. During my student days in Amsterdam I saw many lovely girls and ladies sporting them in the streets. None of them had a high prescription - the airy frame does not lend itself for that. Besides, high index lenses did not exist in those days. These glasses were a splendid example of the "new wave": big frames that ignored the traditional dogma that the frame had to follow the eyebrow line. It really felt like a bit of fresh air. Four decades later Nathalie and Kimberley had their "bit of fresh air" in the freezing cold but their coats kept them warm and they knew that this was just an appetizer for the bulk of their photo shoot that would take place indoors.
