This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Sohaila 009
When preparing for my journey to Ireland I asked Sohaila if she had a preference for certain frame styles. Her answer was outspoken: "My preference is big chunky glasses. Thick plastic pairs, the bigger the better".
These striking glasses are an early masterpiece by the famous Silhouette company from Innsbruck, Austria. Silhouette started on a small scale in 1964 but they only started using frame numbers in the mid 1970's. These big, chunky bifocals have no frame number so it's safe to assume that they were made some 40 years ago. The Rx of the glasses is about right for Sohaila, except for the cylinders in the lenses.
