Another beautiful, soft toned portrait of Miriam and Esther posing in the glasses fashion of the late 1970's and early 1980's. Depending on the light conditions, we switched several times between Miriam's ceramic art studio and the adjoining garden.
Miriam's Rodenstock glasses were only featured in three previous photo shoots, with Gita (027) and Lettie (089) in 2010 on my first weblog, and recently with Grazyna from Dublin on the beach of Bray. The glasses have been in my collection since the turn of the millennium.
Esther's Luxotica glasses were a welcome find at the "Waterlooplein" flea market in Amsterdam during the mid / late 1980's. Ten years later, the small size of the frame came handy when my 13 year old daughter Daphne was in direct need of glasses because one of her contact lenses was damaged. She was staying at my place and she had to go to school, but she had no spare pair of glasses. Daphne asked me if she could use a pair of glasses from my collection, adding "but not one of those big monsters, daddy!". Daphne's  prescription was changing fast and she had a substantial increase each year. She told me that she needed glasses with lenses around minus eight. I dug out three pairs and she selected these Luxotica glasses which were not hip by her standards but just acceptable. Having become an adult, Daphne now has a prescription in the double digits.
The Luxotica glasses were featured in three previous photo shoots: with Conny (119) in 2010 on my first weblog, and with Claudine (020) and professional model Claudia Allegonda (039) in 2011 on the present weblog.
