Osi 066

Several weeks back, this portrait of Osi served as introduction to my journey to Ireland before I started posting the Grazyna, Emilia and Osi photo shoots. It's reproduced here to show it in its proper connotation. In fact, it's just a fragment of a photo taken before we started shooting. Osi and I sat down in the middle of the King's Inn gardens, unprotected by the sun. The result was of course useless because of the excessive glare and contrast - but looking back at the pictures, I saw the reflection of myself in the giant glasses and decided to try and edit this fragment. It's an example of what one may call "participating photography", much the same way Hitchcock appeared briefly and anonymously in his masterpieces. The instruction gesture of the photographer to the model ("look right!") is clearly visible. Question and answer. What's also visible is the double image of my tripod. This is caused by the double reflection of the image in both the front and back side of the giant lenses. Some of the shoe boxes and calzone pizza boxes containing the glasses can be seen below the model's indulgent eyes.
