In spite of the strong cylinders in the lenses, Lucy enjoyed
fair eyesight through the Schubert glasses. The axis of both
cylinders differs almost 90 degrees. Lucy has a straightforward
prescription without cylinders. Each eye on its own would see
a massive blur but the combined images work much better.
I first experimented with this during the first photo shoot with
Marleen, a highly acclaimed model from my first weblog. She
had a prescription with very strong cylinders with horizontal
(close to 90 degrees) axis. My collection hosted only three pairs
close to her prescription but several glasses with a major Rx
difference between left and right gave her fairly good eyesight.
The same principle, the other way round, is used here with the
Schubert glasses.
