This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Nathalie & Kimberley 049
Relaxed posing by Nathalie and Kimberly in "Celia" glasses made by Rodenstock in the mid 1980's when white frames were somewhat fashionable for a few years. The frames are similar but not identical. Nathalie wears a pair of varifocal glasses acquired in Germany a couple of years ago. Their first owner was probably a lady in her early fifties who did not need glasses in her younger days but developed both hyperopia and presbyopia during her forties. The glasses shown by Kimberley are a bit smaller and their first owner must have used them only in the evenings when her contact lenses gave her trouble. The lenses are about minus three which is regarded the boundary between frequent and fulltime wear. The glasses looked absolutely new when I bought them at a fair, some fifteen years ago.
