Marike 014

Great posing by Marike in "Flair" glasses from the late 1960's. Between 1967 and 1970 there was a tidal wave in eyewear design. The glasses got bigger and bigger but equally important, designers had the guts to experiment with a wide variety in shapes and new materials. Oval glasses were "not done" in the late fifties and early sixties. Witnessing all these changes in the street was a fascinating experience and it was my desire to become an optician. This plan never materialized but the current photography project is a fine substitute.
