Scott McKenzie had an instant hit with "San Francisco", a song written by John Phillips of The Mama's and the Papa's. I was working in an Amsterdam printing shop in the love summer of 1967 to earn the money for a 12 string guitar. The radio was always on and I clearly remember the first time "San Francisco" appeared on the waves.
