"Crystal Veil" was the title track of my solo CD, released in the summer
of 2007. It's a song in praise of the general beauty of ladies in glasses.
The sleeve photo of the CD was a borrowing of two great portraits by
(probably) Ed van der Elsken, a famous Amsterdam photographer. He
took two back and white pictues of a young lady looking at a park in the
mid 1960's. I saw the shots in a book, borrowed from the library sometime
during the 1980's and they made a great impression on me. When it was
time to pay attention to the presentation of the CD (musicians have the
tendency to see that part as a sideissue) I zoomed in on the dim memory
of those pictures from the mid 1960's. Imagine Esther did not look at her
own image but at a park in the distance and you will get an idea of the
concept. Great posing, by the way. This was the moment when I felt that
Esther was getting into her stride as a model!
