Esther leading us to another great episode in eyeware
fashion. These Nylor glasses were highly popular during
the final years of the cat eye era. My collection hosts
several fine examples of early 1960's Nylor glasses but
this pair stands out because of the rather high Rx of the
lenses. When these glasses were made, contact lenses
were not widely available and as a result, strong cat eye
glasses were all but rare sightings in the streets when I was
a child. Esther shows here that wearing strong glasses is
nothing to be shy about if the frame really suits the face
of the lady. The power rings add an extra sparkle to this
fine portrait. Great!
