With a bit of fantasy, one can imagine a chronology sequence in this and the previous series of mother and daughter portraits in glasses from the 1980's. Compared with the previous portrait series, the mother still has her minus nine prescription but her new glasses are bifocals with a mild reading add of 1.50. The daughter has developed a considerable degree of myopia, around minus five.
