This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Mother and daughter 094
Miriam (left) and her daughter Esther posing in another tasteful combination of glasses made over 30 years ago.
The glasses shown by Miriam were made by Rodenstock for their "Rodella" series. The flamed brown frame material was highly popular in the mid 1970's but the unusual frame shape may indicate that the glasses were made around 1980. Rodenstock usually avoided risks and their design followed trends rather than initiating them. What sets these "Rodella" glasses apart is the special effect created by the unusual eyebrow line - call it the "Venus" effect, only different because of the larger size of the frame.Great!
The glasses shown by Esther were made by Luxotica in the early 1980's. They would have been considered tiny in those days. In my view, they are a perfect match with Esther's face.
