This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Osi 074
These beautiful white glasses by Christian Olivier are featured in many of my photo shoots. The lenses are so called "Formlenti", an innovation in lens technology meant as aesthetic improvement on the traditional myodiscs with a round "bowl". Here the bowl and its surrounding carrier lens follow the shape of the frame. The overall effect is that of a fine decoration instead of a final remedy to compensate high myopia. The first owner of these glasses must have spent a small fortune on these glasses and she probably made a deliberate choice for this lens type. With her prescription of "only" minus ten, here was no need to fit these glasses with Formlenti as high index lenses were already available in the late 1980's. Perhaps she doubted if high index lenses would give her a comfortable eyesight but her choice for Formlenti was probably made because of the aesthetic advantages. Whatever her reasons, she made an excellent choice. The same goes for Osi when she selected these striking white glasses for her photo shoot.
