This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Emilia 140
In 1967 it became noticeable that glasses frames became bigger than before. Over the next decade, the frames became bigger and bigger and this culminated in the late 1970's. I remember the older generation saying, "these are not glasses but shop windows!". Fashion magazines warned their readers not to follow the trend "blindfolded", saying that "not every woman looks great in huge frames". Of course the authors were right, but it was a feast to walk the streets and enjoy the sightings of umpteen shop windows. Here Emilia poses in what may be called a compromise. Shop windows? Yes, definitely. Huge frame? No. Rather giant contact lenses :).
