This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Emilia 138
Christian Dior glasses first appeared in the optician's shops in 1976 and it was a revolution altogether. New materials, new color combinations and above all, a consistent style, like a signature mark. It's safe to say that Christian Dior glasses conquered the world. Only Silhouette, who zoomed in shortly after Dior, had the same quality and impact. Christian Dior glasses were popular everywhere but especially in Switzerland where the streets were full of beautiful women in Dior glasses. Here Emilia is posing in one of Dior's master pieces from the late 1970's. "By coincidence", these glasses were acquired in Switzerland near the turn of the millennium. The rather narrow frame suits many faces and the glasses were featured in many of my previous photo shoots. The only down side is the lack of anti-reflective coating on the lenses so only two portraits of Emilia met with the photographer's approval stamp.
