These narrow Metzler glasses were one of the many treasures discovered at the "Waterlooplein" flea market in my native Amsterdam during the late 1980's. There was another pair of glasses from the same nose in the box so I acquired both of them. It gave an idea of their first owner's taste for frames. The other pair was quite solid ("not for the faint hearted") and made by Lozza during the mid or late 1970's. The down side of the Lozza glasses was that the left lens was sticking out behind the frame so much that it must have touched the lady's face. Many models posed in the Lozza glasses and some commented on the discomfort. The left lens is -11.50, considerably stronger than the right lens. So it's easy to imagine that their first owner switched to this smaller and less striking pair of Metzler glasses after some years. A good choice!
