This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Mother and daughter 039
Fine posing by Miriam and Esther in two glasses from the mid 1960's, after the cat eye era and before the arrival of large frames.
Miriam is posing in a nameless pair with a wooden frame. The shape of the frame is characteristic for the mid 1960's. Opticians had these wooden glasses in their shop windows in 1966 for a while but I never saw anyone wearing them in the streets. Thirty years later, I came across this pair and recognized it straightaway. Esther is posing in "Maya" glasses which were a bestseller for Rodenstock in 1966. The frame was available in three different colours: orange for blondes, black and brown for brunettes.
Both glasses have been quite popular among my models and as a result, they were featured frequently in my earlier photo shoots.
