This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Mother and daughter 014
Another fine portrait of Miriam (left) and her daughter Esther posing in vintage glasses from the cat eye era. These were highly popular frames in the late 1950's. I clearly remember seeing many girls and women wearing these glasses in the streets of Amsterdam when I was a schoolboy. The lenses were usually much stronger than what we see in the streets nowadays. Glasses were expensive and there was still a taboo on wearing glasses full time unless it was absolutely necessary. There were no contact lenses in the shops so the streets were full of ladies with high prescriptions.
