Some 15 years after my brief acquaintance with the "Purple
Lady" I came across these glasses at the Amsterdam flea
market and bought them straightaway. The frame is exactly
the frame of her own glasses and the Rx of the lenses comes
close to her Rx which was, in her own words, "about minus six".
It was tempting to think that these were really her glasses, but
of course, minus six is a common Rx and the glasses may well
have belonged to a different lady. Anyway, it makes no difference
as the sweet memory of the real "Purple Lady" has never left me.
Young and innocent days....
