This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Grazyna 034
Grazyna posing in one of the most beautiful glasses from my collection, made by Christian Olivier in the 1980's. The lenses are so called "Formlenti", an invention made in the 1970's to improve on the traditional myodisc lenses with a circular bowl. Here the central part of the lens follows the shape of the frame. The surrounding carrier lens looks like a nice decoration rather than "the only option left" to prevent that the lenses become too thick. High index lenses were already available when these glasses were made so there was no need to choose Formlenti. I'm convinced that the first owner of these (no doubt, quite expensive) glasses made a deliberate choice.
