"Raise your chin a bit, please".... Here Marieke uses another trick that has proved helpful over the years. She is looking at the grey sky that produces the umpteen snowflakes falling on her beautiful gala dress. The grey sky gives no visual information whatsoever and this helps the brain sending a signal to the eyes that there is no need to try focusing.
