Claudia Allegonda 001

THE STORY OF CLAUDIA ALLEGONDA AND THE MAGIC GLASSES
(HAARLEM, 1573 and 2011)

A beautiful lady called Claudia is a citizen of the Dutch city of Haarlem, situated
some 20 miles west of Amsterdam. She wears glasses to correct her mild myopia.
A few weeks ago, Claudia paid a visit to a great vintage clothing & lifestyle shop
in Haarlem, called "De Stijlloods". There she met a stranger who introduced himself
as Lentilux. He had a giant rucksack with him, out of which he took some shoe boxes.
Claudia asked him,
"Can I see the shoes?".
The stranger smiled and opened all but one of the boxes. They were filled to the brim,
not with shoes but with glasses in every prescription and frame shape.
Curiosity overtook Claudia and she asked the stranger,
"Can I try out some of your glasses?".
"Indeed you can. It will be my privilege and honour. But some of the glasses may be
far too strong for you".
"I am told that I may get carried away by visions of the distant past when I put on
other people's glasses - like in a time machine. Do you mind if that happens?", she asked.
"Not at all, I'm sure that I will enjoy the experience. Did you ever hear about Voice
Dialogue? Please share with me what you see in your visions", the stranger said.
Claudia installed herself on a beautiful chaise longue. The stranger handed her a pair
of early 1960's glasses and said,
"These are Rodenstock glasses called Toxy. They may be near your own prescription".
Claudia put on the glasses and to her delight, she could see fairly well through the lenses.
She walked to a big mirror on a wall and she was delighted with her looks in the glasses.
"These are nice. Can I try another pair?"
"Of course you can"
