Back in the 1960's, there were a number of thumb rules

for choosing frames. Opticians had more influence on the

choice by their customers than they have now. Black or

brown frames were for brunettes, orange frames were

for blondes. The few girls or ladies that trespassed the

border of the thumb rules were often criticized by their

peer group.
