Haute Couture in eyewear started in the mid 1970's when
Christian Dior took the stage by storm with glasses of an
entirely new design and - another novelty - with their logo
stamped on the arms. During the next decade, more Haute
Couture competitors started designing and manufacturing
glasses, including Yves St. Laurent.
