"Man deliberates, woman decides" would be the literal
translation of a well known expression in the dutch language.
Preparing a photo shoot takes about a day's work as the
selection process of the glasses is very time consuming.
I always search for glasses that could work Rx wise but an
equally important factor is trying to select with the model in
mind. I had studied Christien's portfolio and this was of great
help, but then again, you never know if a combination of
model and glasses will work. The proof of the pudding....
Opticians know all about this and I can imagine their delight
when a great blend is found. The difference with my project
is that many clients in an optician's shop have to rely on the
opinion of their optician or a friend / partner in their company.
No such problems here - Christien could select most of the
glasses by looking in the mirror, "OK, these look interesting".
But it's really happening in front of the camera when something
intangible seems to decide whether a combination is OK or
superb. Need I say more?
