the arms. I cherish the images and memories of umpteen
girls and women in the streets of Amsterdam wearing
these glasses half a century ago. Part of my motivation
to do photo shoots is to revive all those images from my
schoolboy days. My grandmother first introduced me to
the world of glasses when I was six years of age. She
allowed me to put on all her glasses and asked me to
describe what I saw. Her Rx must have been about -1
for long distance and +1.50 for reading and as she hated
bifocals, she kept switching glasses constantly. She could
be withdrawn and introvert, but also very outgoing on other
occasions. Pushing the world away from her and then again
pulling it towards her. This is exactly what her various glasses
did when I looked through them. This led me to beleive that
she was a magician and that glasses were magical objects.
