A cheerful "entre nous" between mother and daughter, showing the centrifugal effect of Esther's strong "plussie" glasses (+ 8.50). Miriam is looking straight into those giant eyes which are here discretely hidden for their court photographer and the viewers of his weblog. Note the intricate play of light and shadow in the lens in front of Esther's left eye. What we see here is not the effect of a bifocal lens but the "en profil" image of Miriam's face. Miriam's left eye is just visible between a hair lock and the rim of he glasses and it's arguably the heart of this discrete portrait.
