This blog is dedicated to ladies in glasses. The vast majority of the portraits on this blog feature ladies wearing glasses near their own Rx. I felt that this would give a more natural flavour to the pictures and also a more natural setting for the photo shoots from which the pictures on this blog are selected. Nearly all the glasses featured in this blog are from my own collection.

Contrasting prescriptions.... Miriam's glasses show their power rings while the image of Esther's giant eyes is almost invisible, pressed towards (and even over) the upper rim of the glasses.
Photography of models in glasses for severe long sight has its limitations. It's best to keep the photography "en face" but I always try to stretch the limits :). Almost 20 years ago, I had a relation with a Dublin lady who had a prescription of +7.00 with an additional cylinder of +1.00. In 1994, large frames were still regarded fashionable in Ireland and she used two glasses with very large frames. The spare pair was a bit stronger and it was meant for reading but she hardly ever used it. Instead, she pushed her glasses half a centimeter down her nose, claiming that this enabled her to read well. I made lots of photos of her during our relation and this experience came handy when the "Ladies behind crystal veil" project went under way.
