Drop temple glasses were highly fashionable during the early and mid 1980's. After three decennia of great innovation in glasses design, it came as a shock to me when all opticians in Holland suddenly dropped the big frames in 1989. Here Sohaila is showing the beauty of a style that went entirely out of circulation. For the next two decades, the trend was tiny and retro. It's reassuring that the big frames are back in the streets but the diversity is much less than it was during the heyday of frame design.
