Hans Winkel was an optician / designer who ran a rather exclusive shop at the Rokin, near the Dam in my native Amsterdam. Back in the 1970's I could not afford any of his glasses but my collection now hosts two Hans Winkel glasses, acquired for a far more competitive price than their first owners must have paid. These blue glasses were not featured in any of my previous photo shoots.
