Bianca 038

Recently, the big frames were back in the optician's shops
and even better, in the streets. What has not returned so far
is the incredible variety in frame shapes that could be seen
everywhere during the 1970's and 1980's. Eyewear designers
did a lot of experimenting in those days. There were glasses
for any shape of face, any complexion. It's often thought that
only huge frames like these Saphira bifocals were designed
and manufactured, but in reality a substantial minority of frames
was much smaller so that there was plenty of choice for all
clients. It is to be hoped that a similar variety in frames will be
back in the shops soon.
