But let's talk glasses.... These highly unusual glasses by Saphira were a welcome find at the "Waterlooplein" flea market sometime in the 1980's. My first reaction was that their first owner was in a crazy mood when she chose this frame. Later inspection showed that she must have liked these glasses a lot - the frame shows considerable wear and tear, indicating that the glasses were used full time for many years. Perhaps the lady had an all but average facial shape. Anyway, the Saphira glasses were featured in five previous photo shoots and I decided to bring them to Ireland. After all, they fitted into how Sohaila had described her preference with regard to frames. Equally important, the glasses would give her almost perfect eyesight.
