This photo shoot with Claudine was mainly about frame

choice for narrow faced ladies but a nice side effect was

the way some frames seemed to look much bigger than

they were in previous photo shoots. Over a decade ago,

these Luxotica glasses came handy when my daughter (then

14) had a damaged contact lens. She asked me if I had a

pair of glasses in my collection that might help her through

the day at school and this Luxotica pair had almost the right

prescription. All the other glasses with Rx -8 in my collection

were far too big for her face so she chose the Luxotica pair.

When these glasses were made they were considered tiny

but during the retro era they seemed huge and my daughter

was happy when she could get a replacement for her damaged

contact lens after school hours. Anyway, having my collection

available has been convenient on several occasions. Farishta

had a damaged contact lens when she did the catwalk at the

opening of my recent exhibition in Germany. After the catwalk

she asked me if she could wear one of the glasses from my

collection during her journey home. Needless to say, I was happy

to help her and she left the exhibition in a splendid pair of her

favourite Dior glasses.
