Léonne posing as Eve in paradise, surrounded by flowers that blend
fine with her orange Neostyle glasses. Though scientific proof is lacking,
I am beginning to suspect that glasses were not invented around 1270
by monks from Venice. They may go back to the days of creation....
A clue to the miracle can be found in the lyrics of "Eva", written by
the late Lennaert Nijgh for Boudewijn de Groot. Nijgh wrote that the
earth opened when Eve was created ("De aarde scheurt open, ik zie haar
lopen, in mijn eigen groene gras") and it's likely that the surface of the
earth was briefly tilted during the event. Food for thought....
