These "Toxy" glasses by Rodenstock are a fine example
of the brief period in eyeware fashion (1964 - 1967)
between the cat eye era and the arrival of the big frames.
They were kindly given to me by their first owner who had
kept them in a box, 25 years after she stopped wearing them.
We went through her old photo albums to reconstruct the
sequence in which she bought all her glasses. This pair first
appeared in pictures that were taken in late 1963 or early
1964. Surprisingly, she used these glasses until 1972, long
after they had become unfashionable
