Marieke 220

Superb posing by Marieke in contemporary cat eye
glasses "with a twist". Not for the faint hearted, not for
the "girl next door".... When I saw this gorgeous portrait,
a few lines of a famous poem by Patrick Kevanagh ran
through my head:
".... that's known to the artists who have known
the true gods of sound and stone"
The late and much lamented Luke Kelly sang the definitive
version of the poem which is called "Raglan road".
Marieke is my climbing partner in the Alps and this photo
shoot was done in Germany, so it's appropriate to quote yet
another authority, the mountain climber Walter Pause:
"Wer hier nicht fotografiert hat weniger vom Leben".
Pause wrote about a view on the Guglia di Brenta in the
Dolomites but in my humble opinion, his remark equally
applies to this particular moment in the photo shoot
