Silhouette from Austria started designing and manufacturing glasses in 1964 but they really became famous in the 1970's. The company gave a serial number to each new frame and this was instrumental when I asked them information about the age of the Silhouette glasses in my collection. Some of their early frames have no serial number and this pair was probably made before the Silhouette breakthrough (in the slipstream of Christian Dior) in the mid 1970's. Marike and I agreed that this was an outstanding pair of glasses, well worth trying during her photo shoot. We were not disappointed....
